Happy Square Root Day!
Posted on March 3rd, 2009 by Itay

An unofficial Geek holiday, but noteworthy nonetheless. Celebrated only nine times this century, today, March 03, 2009 or 3/3/09 is a “square root day”…
Square Root Day is when the numbers of the calendar align so that the month and day are each equal to the square root of the year as expressed in two-digit format.
32 = 3 x 3 = 9 . . . 3/3/09
Last Square Root Day was 2/2/04 and the one before was 1/1/01.
The next one will be on 4/4/16, followed by 5/5/25, 6/6/36, 7/7/49, 8/8/64 and the last one this century will be on 9/9/81.

The square root day would be 5/5/25, not 5/5/20. 5^2 is 25.
Kat – thanks for the correction. I edited the post.
No problem ^_^
