I must admit a slight feeling of inadequacy writing about the beauty of cows little over 24 hours after posting about gigantic hamburgers.

There are many kinds of bovines. Some can be very tame, others can be rather scary, but they all are beautiful creatures.

They are sacred to Hindus. Often called the ’second mother’ for being the providers of milk for children after they stop breastfeeding.

Primary source of dairy products – cream and butter, yogurt and cheese – and steak and beef. The red meat liked by most.

Cow hide and leather make great wallets, jackets, shoes and belts and their excrement is a great fertilizer

In fact the only bad thing I can say about cows, is that combined with pigs cows are accountable for 25% of the methane gas emissions every year! Methane of course being one of the worst offending greenhouse gasses blamed for globalwarming and climate change.

But alas – here are over 40 beautiful cows! Enjoy.
