Reef Tank - Two More Tangs In!

Last night my last 2 tangs went into the tank.

I’ve been waiting for the Yellow and Purple Tangs to come out of quarantine and they were finally ready to go in yesterday.

Unfortunately, the Rabbit Fish and Flame Fin Tang weren’t as thrilled. For about an hour they chased them around and nipped at their bodies and fins… wasn’t fun to watch.

The Rabbit Fish was most aggressive towards the Yellow Tang

Fortunately they stopped chasing them after a while and the Yellow Tang found a safe corner.

Today they seemed to be more at ease and were less bullied by the big fish. The purple tang was out and about grazing and eating with the rest of the fish during my regular feedings.

The Yellow tang is still pretty shy, specially after the warm welcome he got, and is keeping to himself in a corner. I have been feeding it Green and Purple nori and it is finally starting to show interest in eating.

So there seems to be peace in the tank, at least for the time being, and the funny thing is that all the fish continue to congregate on the left side of the aquarium… leaving a very empty 2/3 of the tank. I could have saved a lot of money by getting one 1/3 of the size! :)
