This is a very cool site. The description on the site explains it best:

…earth album is a simpler, slicker Flickr mash-up that allows you to explore some of the most stunning photos in the world courtesy of Google maps and Flickr. To begin your journey, just click somewhere on the map, e.g. “India”. Note– since the top Flickr images are used, the images change every few weeks; bookmark this site and check back for a different experience in a month!

Its a really neat combination of creativity and geo location. I don’t have many pictures on flickr, but this will definitely make me post some more on there. I want find one of my own!

You can click around, zoom in and out to satellite level, scroll, or if you prefer you can search for places and refine your searches. I found some incredible photos and clicked onto their author’s flickr pages directly, exposing even greater content. Its great! Give it a try.
