With iPods pretty much everywhere you turn, CD sales are plummeting lower and lower. There used to be a day when people would pride themselves in the size of their CD collection. Back in the day, vinyls were king, but I think the CD jewel cases had more of a presence. Now we all have white earbuds and thousands of MP3s.
The covers, booklets and even CDs themselves were sometimes very original and artistic. Here’s a collection of very creative CD designs, that take the hole of the CD and incorporate into the design.

Pretty much every product we own (from toothpaste to milk carton, from cans of soda to books) has a barcode on it. The barcode was developed in the United States by inventors Joseph Woodland, Jordin Johanson and Bernard Silver on October 7, 1952.
They came up with a machine readable way of representing data. Originally it was used in the automotive and rail industry, but it has revolutionized the way data is read off products by use of an optical scanner. Nowadays, barcodes are even used as forms of payment that can be “scanned” by taking a picture of them with a camera phone. (more information about barcodes can be found on Wikipedia
Those of us who remember going to the grocery store and see the clerks type 10,000 numbers each time at the check out counters are giving up their age!
But who said barcodes can’t also be a form of art? Here are a few fun and creative barcodes.

I just added my second fish - a Foxfaced Rabbit Fish.
What a fascinating creature! When stressed or scared they change colors, losing the yellow body color. Their spines are pretty venomous…

Yesterday I added my first fish! A Tomini Tang. His on algae patrol - eating up the hair algae and dinoflaggelates that have invaded my tank.
He was a bit shy at first and insisted on hiding in a cave, but soon there after he started exploring and started eating right away!

Like the saying says… “Shit Happens” and when its related to aquariums, that “Shit” is usually wet, AND when its a 180 gallon aquarium and pumps that move approx 1000 gallon/hr, its usually a BIG WET MESS…

Alright - an update is overdue. I’ve been running water tests regularly and over the last few weeks the levels are beginning to normalize. Ammonia, Nitrates and Nitrites are approaching their desired non existence, but still a little bit to go before they’re gone….
